This is: canon!

Jack shows a plethora of ADHD traits, such as:

•Inability to sit still

•Easily distracted

•Forgetful

•Able to focus on things that interest/excite him

In the context of the story:

Jack is new to school, having to change schools due to his neurodiversity. He manages to find something that helps him focus and channel his neurodivergence into, that being playing ‘army’ with his classmate Rusty.
